Nepantla · Tierra Viva

Ancestral land and soil regeneration. Bringing together knowledge and resilience to co-create abundance and reconnect with the web of life.

What is Nepantla?

Nepantla Tierra Viva is a project for soil and land regeneration  as well as ancestral practices and knowledge that generate abundance.

It is a space, a dream, where through research, sharing, and collaborative learning, we create strategies and practices to regenerate the fertility of the earth and reconnect with it.

Our common ground is the understanding that soil is a complex and living assemblage of human and more-than-human forces, and is the spiritual, cultural, political, economic, and social foundation of our territories. We assert the  principle that we not only continue to need Land for People, but we also need People for the Land.

Soil Microbiome

To obtain the nutrients they need, plants have developed a series of intimate relationships with soil microorganisms. These microorganisms, about which we still know very little, weave a complex web of relationships that creates soil fertility.

Microscopy and Amendments

We perform microbiological analyses and biological amendments, as well as support individuals, groups, and communities seeking training in these strategies. We learn from each territory, from each land with its broad range of specificities.

Gardens of Abundance

Over millennia, through very sophisticated and specific knowledge, anchored to each territory and often with a great amount of human labor, the peoples of this continent generated what we call here Gardens of Abundance.
